We felt squirrelly with the rain today -- no geocaching for this family. Instead, we used the nutcracker to open half of our hickory nuts. We started with about 7.5 cups of nuts in their shells and ended with a little less than 3 cups of nutmeats. My youngest basically eats all of the ones she opens, so maybe we'd get a full 3 cups if she's not in the house.
